In the last years I spent more than 800 days in the Namibian bush. I travelled no less than 80.000km on tar roads, gravel roads, bush tracks, sandy riverbeds and n the beach in the search for spectacular motives, dreamlike atmospheres or exciting animal encounters.

Nachdem ich die letzten Jahre fast auschließlich im südlichen Afrika fotografiert habe, ist dies ist mein erster Bildband, für den ich in Deutschland fotografiert habe. Es war ein großer Sprung aus der Weite Afrikas in den Ballungsraum Ruhrgebiet. Als gebürtiger Bochumer ist dieser aber auch meine Heimat und so war ich sehr gespannt, was die Ruhrpott-Natur so zu bieten hat. Mit Begeisterung habe ich die wilde Seite des Ruhrgebiets für mich entdeckt und vier Jahre lang voller Freude im Ruhrpott auf den Auslöser gedrückt..

Kalahari Dreaming
For my first coffee-table book ‘Kalahari Dreaming’ I spent months at a time in the Kalahari, capturing the mood and spirit of this beautiful place. I total, I spent over 900 days in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and neighbouring areas to photographing its wildlife.
This book reflects my time in the park and takes you deep into the life of the wild Kalahari, showcasing all its facets. Short glimpses into the intimate lives of wild creatures, unbelievable encounters, unusual and seldom-seen behaviours, moments of dramatic lighting and stories from the bush, all displayed through an extraordinary collection of photographs.
